100 Years of Alessandro Alessandroni

On March 18, 2025, we celebrate a century since the birth of Alessandro Alessandroni, the versatile Italian maestro whose influence resonates through generations

A true craftsman of music, he moved across genres and styles with effortless mastery: from the iconic soundtracks of Spaghetti Westerns to sophisticated film and television scores, from jazz and funk to daring electronic experiments. 

His unique guitarwork, his legendary whistle – the unmistakable symbol of Italian westerns – and the unforgettable sound of his vocal group I Cantori Moderni have left an indelible mark on our music history. Yet, he didn’t have an inflated view of what he did: to him it was ‘just a job’ and, with characteristic irony, he often referred to it as “music by the pound.”

Once a hidden treasure, his music has now become a cult favorite among collectors, DJs, and enthusiasts worldwide. His legacy shines brightly, a testament to the enduring power of true artistry, even when born in the shadows.
